This is my final front cover, I have changed the font of the masthead because it fits over the cover image without using a white background, like my previous mock, making it look professional. I have also edited the colour of some of my text to make it further stand out against the background and changed some of the fonts to sans serif fonts which follow the conventions of a magazine.

This is another draft for my contents page, I have cropped my picture so it is no longer a mirrored image as there was no space for my text. I have made the background to my text black to highlight it. I used my flatplan to help me with my page titles.

This is my final piece for my Contents Page I have additionally added: large bold numbers and text boxes next to my images to highlight what pages these pictures relate to. I have also added a note from the editor to fill in all the blank space around my page.

This is my final double page spread, I have used a full picture of my music artist as one side of the spread and I used the same font has my contents page to show fluidity and a consistency through my magazine pages. I inserted the album cover for my artist that I made and added a sub-heading which links to it.

This is my contents page colour mock, without text. This design is different to my original plain mockup layout as i chose a different main image and two smaller images i wanted to include. I have used the same font for this title as the font on my double page spread to show consistency and a constant link between my pages. I am still considering a different layout as i will need space to fit my page numbers and titles. To create a mirror image for this picture I used photoshop to drag it across creating a duplicate.

This is the first colour mockup for my Double Page Spread. I like this so far as the main image has a unique background and fits with my quirky indie genre. I have also used the burgandy red font for the title which shows consistency and a link between my front cover and the double page spread. I might have to change the smaller image as its the same as my contents page.

I have now mocked up my Front Cover, with the picture and the fonts in colour. This is just a rough mockup, not the final piece as i'm considering different font colours and font types and I need to blank out the white background in the masthead or change it completely.

I have created an Album cover to include in my magazine to promote my artist. I did some research into Artist/band album covers and used the conventions of them to help me create mine. I went onto PicMonkey.com to edit my image with colour tints and contrast, brightness and highlight tools and then added my text using paint.

Ellie Gouldings album cover, is the one I used as my inspiration. I like the simplicity of it, but yet it still looks professional.  I took the photo of my artist as a close-up shot of her head and shoulders, she also changed clothes to what she was wearing in the previous photo-shoot as I wanted the Album cover to look professional.

Photography for my Magazine

In these two photographs, I chose a different location from my other images. I used my friends bedroom wall which is decorated with pictures and text. I feel this gives quite a quirky edge to the image and fits with my 'indie' theme.  My model is pulling a serious/open mouth pose here which could connote an alluring appeal.

I took this photo as a facial close-up of my model. I also used 'Instagram' to edit it with the colour effect 'Nashville' to get a tinted colour tone to the image. I like this imag because it portrays my artist in a more feminine/girly way as she is wearing a patterened shirt/blouse and  her make-up and complexion is very clear.

Over christmas I went to a 'Ben Howard' gig, whose genre of music fits with my indie-pop theme. I am going to use these images on my Contents Page as an advertisement for the gig tickets competition.
